I’m Darius A. Journigan, a Chicago/NYC-based actor, director, and private acting coach originally from Detroit. As the founder of the annual Working Actor Masterclass (WAM), I coach actors of all experience levels worldwide. I'm a company member at The Family Repertory Company where I've been acting, directing, and teaching since 2016.
My credits include Christian in Ruined at the Athens & Epidaurus Festival in Athens, Greece; Hal Carter in Picnic (American Academy of Dramatic Arts); Conduit #2 in Adonis Memories (In Our Words), an immersive play; Flock (Jump In The Light), an immersive virtual reality experience; T.O. in THE REALNESS/AND THEN THERE WAS HIP HOP; a co-star in the New York premiere of The Sex Myth: A Devised Play (Break The Sex Myth) off-Broadway; and Rob in the 2023 feature film Mckenzie McCoy. I’ve had the privilege of working with top directors in the field; in a reading of Fugitive/Slave/Act at the National Black Theatre in Harlem, directed by Dennis Hilton-Reid, and in How Black Mothers Say I Love You at The Public Theater's Joe's Pub, directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon. After completing a 5 month long educational tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream with Shakespeare & Company, I’m currently directing in their Fall Festival of Shakespeare!
